Wind energy

Wind energy describes the process by which the wind is used to generate electricity. Wind turbines are the machines which convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. Then, this mechanical power is converted into electricity through a generator.

There is a wide variety of wind turbines types which differ from one another because of their power, number of blades or even because of the way they produce electricity according to different criteria (position and orientation of the wind turbine to the wind).
